Tony Phillips ADI student commendations:
"After not working as an ADI for several months my check test invitation duly arrived. I wanted to stay registered as an ADI but felt very rusty after not regularly teaching for some time. Tony came over from London to Bath and helped me regain some much needed confidence as well as giving me some updated training. I found him very approachable, good fun to work with and thought his training methods were clear and concise. The check test result was a pass which I am not convinced I would have achieved without his expert help. I found the experience useful as well as enjoyable and I would recommend Tony to anyone who may feel their tuition needs a bit of updating. Kevin from Timsbury, near Bath
Abel contacted Tony Phillips having failed three attempts at the Driving Instructors Part 3 test although he had received driving instructor training with a national and well known driving instructor training establishment. He found Tony Phillips through a driving instructor friend of his who had had some very successful driving instructor Check Test training with him. Abel has now qualified as a driving instructor, achieving a grade 6 in first phase and a 5 in the second phase of the driving instructor's part 3 exam and had the following to say about Tony's driving instructor training
"I was very impressed with Tony not only by his robust training methods but also by his friendly, upmost professional and efficient manner. He helped me to achieve my full potential and ace my part 3 after previously failing it with his versatile last minute rescue training. Tonys guidance extends beyond just one to one training. He helped me by providing me with all the right tools (teaching aid, books, manuals etc) to enable me to organise my knowledge and extract methods of teaching from it. He has not only helped me to pass my part three, he has also shown me what it means to be a super instructor I thank you very much for this Tony and I will be sure to keep in touch"
Aldona had completed her 40 hours of Part 3 training provided by her nationally recognised driving instructor training company and wanted to commence teaching learners on a trainee driving instructor's licence. However, she felt completely baffled by her training and knew that not only was she definitely not ready to teach people, she was worried that she would be a liability to them, herself and other road users. She contacted Tony and has the following to say
"I would like to recommend Tony to everyone who wants to get training to become driving instructor. I started my course with big national school but unfortunately they did not provide what I needed and expected. And when I was just about to give up on my dream my partner found Tony and I started training sessions with him. They were really fantastic. Tony gave me a lot of advice not only to help me pass Part 3 but also to teach real learners during real lesson in real life. Thanks to Tony's training I passed Part 3 on the first attempt and got grade 5 on phase one and also grade 5 on phase two. Also examiner gave me a very good feedback. I also feel confident to get into the car and teach to drive I would not be able to achieve any of that without Tony He is so professional, has a lot of experience, knowledge, great approach and sense of humor. Thanks a lot, Tony Aldona"
"Just wanted to drop you a note to thank you for all your help & training with my check test. As I am an independent driving instructor when I was notified that I was due a check test, I thought maybe I wasn't teaching "by the book" & having someone to look at my teaching before the check test would be a good idea. Thank goodness I called you! Your help & advice were invaluable & I found I had become complacent with my teaching. I really enjoyed the day & found that my teaching, after your training, was greatly improved, to such an extent I missed out on a grade 6 "by a whisker" (words from the examiner not me). I would advise anyone who has a check test coming up to call you & they will definitely see an improvement in their teaching & grade. Once again many thanks Tony, & I would not hesitate to heartily recommend you" - Sue Palmer.
"I had my Check Test today (19th August) and achieved an ADI Grade 5. I was really just a whisker short of an ADI Grade 6! I achieved this through a day's training with Tony Phillips who came along to my area and gave me some really great advice. On previous ADI Check Tests, my grades had been inconsistent but Tony helped me with my route and lesson plans and that help really paid off. If I hear of any ADIs or trainees needing help, I'm definitely putting them in touch with Tony Phillips. As far as I'm concerned, he comes thoroughly recommended" Nick, Sutton.
And congratulations to Shem St. Louis DSA ADI: “Before I came to Tony, I actually booked and arranged a loan for ADI training with another very well known ADI Training company. Then I looked on various websites and had second thoughts, especially after some of the things that I had read about them. Thankfully I was able to cancel the loan as it was still the ‘cooling off’ period.
I really wanted to become a driving instructor and after searching around further on the internet, I found Tony Phillips ADI Training. Following an initial chat over coffee with him, I decided that he’s the person that I wanted to take my training with. He gave me friendly honest advice concerning the advantages and the pitfalls which made me put my trust in him.
Now I’m completely made up about it and so glad that I made the right decision as I have just passed my part 3 on my first attempt! I didn’t have to leave my job as Tony fitted his training times around my work schedule and obviously, I didn’t even take up a trainee’s licence either. Now with Tony’s help, I’m looking forward to planning my future as a fully qualified independent ADI, with no need to rely on paying a driving school expensive franchise fees just to drive their car and advertise their business”- Shem St. Louis DSA ADI
Afzal had recently failed a check test and put off his training, it wasn't until the second attempt loomed that he decided to do something about it. He found about Tony Phillips and contacted him for help. Tony met him in Goodmayes, his local test centre area, and gave Afzal a day's intensive training. Afzal passed his Check Test and this is what he said:
"Thank you for your training session it has definitely helped me. I was feeling very worried about my next Check Test as I couldn't work out exactly how to change the way I was teaching but from the very beginning of our session, you recognised where I was going wrong and with your help and suggestions, I've improved greatly as an instructor. I feel very lucky that I found you. I have a lot of friends who have recently become ADIs and I will refer them to you when they receive their check test invitation."
Don't wait until the last minute for your own Check Test. If Afzal had come to Tony earlier, then there was the definite possibility that he would have achieved a Grade 5 instead of a 4. Contact Tony now and improve your teaching skills to ensure you get that higher grade.
"I passed my ADI Part 3 test on 1st May 2010. It was my first attempt and I achieved a 5 in 1st phase and a 4 in 2nd phase. I would never have been able to achieve this without Tony Phillips. I had already been training at a very well known ADI Training company and was floundering on Part 2 when my cousin told me about Tony Phillips, as my cousin had already qualified with Tony recently.
Tony was available when I needed my part 2 and part 3 training, gave me very good quality tuition that made the whole process through ADI Part 2 and ADI Part 3 very simple to understand and what's more, he was competitively priced as well. I have already passed Tony's details onto my other training buddies and they're having the same experience.
Tony is now in the process of helping me to start up my new business as an ADI and in the meantime I will continue to tell everyone I know just how good Tony Phillips is". - Seth
Christian (pictured left) from Milton Keynes passed his Part 2 at his first attempt. Well done Christian. Now for Part 3!
"Tony trained and guided me all the way through the process from Part 1 through to completing the course successfully and passing my Part 3 at my first attempt. I received a top quality personal service from Tony and thoroughly recommend him to anyone that's thinking of taking up driving instructing or has problems with their existing trainer". William (pictured right), December 2009
"After sailing through part 1 and 2, I was struggling with part 3. Tony quickly identified my weaknesses that my other trainer was missing. Tony's astute skills really made the difference that won me the green ticket." - Andy, Crawley
"I can only say a massive 'THANKS' to you Tony. You helped me to change my life, and since passing things are on the up for my family. It took 2 attempts, but after the first attempt, you spurred me on and without the extra sessions I don't think I would have felt as confident as I did. So again 'I THANK YOU', and would recommend you to any one wanting to get through to their green badge." - Lyndon B (A.D.I. No.292575)
"Tony Phillips is a very knowledgeable and competent trainer. He has a nice relaxed and approachable manner but is also very professional. He taught me all I needed to know to be a good instructor and get me through my ADI exams and more. He is very highly recommended. - "Sheila, Ripley, Surrey
"I passed Part 3 on my first attempt with Tony. I'm telling everyone I can about him as his training was key to my success." - Mary, West London
"Tony was very easy to understand and his role play was so lifelike, I really believed he was a learner driver. I'm certain that this helped me to pass without having to take up a trainee's licence." - Greig, Middlesex
"I don't think I'd have made it without good old Tony's Trainees! He really picked me up and got me back on track." - Jill, Sutton
"I made a few 'wrong turns' with my training by getting myself involved with a poor training establishment and then joining a poor driving school as a trainee instructor. I was given Tony's details just by chance and really thank my lucky stars because Tony took me through it all over again and with his really detailed help I got through on my 2nd attempt." - Darren,Teddington
"My school gave me Tony's details as I was getting nowhere with my training company. Tony worked very hard to help me and I made it on my 3rd attempt." - Madhav, Hounslow
"You have to be very careful when looking for a trainer in this business. There are some big companies just wanting to take large amounts of money from you and give very very little in return. Tony's deal was much fairer for me. He gives very good value for money and I'm pleased to say that I'm now an ADI because of him." - Estelle, Ewell
"Tony was instrumental in getting me through. Thanks for everything." - Barry, Lewisham
"What can I say. I'm just over the moon." - Anne, Birmingham.
"We did it with a sense of humour and hard work. I started training with my uncle who runs his own driving school but I got nowhere fast and starting to go backwards. With Tony I went only one way. Forwards. Thanks Tony." - Suleiman, Barking
"When it comes to trainers, I did the grand tour. I even went up to Hull for training. But it was Tony that got me through it in the end." - Alex, Surrey.
"I just can't believe it. I was really thinking about giving up. I had a terrible year in 2006 with redundancy looming and tragic personal events. Tony was always there for training, tea and sympathy. He worked hard, even when I know I was little better than a lost cause. My first part 3 attempt was cancelled due to bad weather and I wasn't even going to turn up for the rescheduled attempt. I'm so glad I did because I passed on my first attempt and I haven't even taken up a trainee's licence. So I can pack up my temping job and start myself up in a new career, and it's all down to Tony." - Louise, Sutton.
